Still reeling from the downer that Halloween has long past and that everyone’s favourite capitalistic-superficial-holiday Christmas is drawing ever so near. Yes I am super positive about the festive season, guess maybe I’m all grown up now and over silly things like that… well except Halloween that shit be real yo. Getting me through the week always has to be the music and what better way to enjoy music than to share, as they say sharing is caring except if it’s the flu..
John Carpenter – Vortex
David Lynch has done it and now its time for Director John Carpenter (Halloween, Escape from New York, The Ward) to bless us with his “stab” at musical wizardry. Being released on the 3rd February 2015 on the Scared Bones Records label (Zola Jesus, Woods), he promises it be “"little moments of score from movies made in our imaginations." Take a hear at the first track to be released Vortex, yup sounds just about right.
ASTR - R U With Me
Musical discovery of the week. NY duo ASTR channel some cool electro pop vibes, their biggest track Operate is getting the most plays but I’m gonna go with R U with Me for its 80’s kind of vibe
H1987 - COVER
H1987 is really churning out the good stuff, loving his sampling montages and Cover is a cool mishmash of sounds set against a banging beat. As a plus check out his remix of The Fugees – Ready or Not pretty menacing version.
Diana Ross - Slow Hangover (Disco Tech edit)
Boy I love me some cool dicos funk vibes and boy is that what Disoc Tech provided taking an already hip 76’s Diana Ross track Slow Hangover and just dipped it in a bit of honey lathered hot chocolate hmmmmm. PS hangovers are never as sensual as this track.
Cazwell ft. Big Dipper - Hot Homo
Okay this is something different, some homo rap coming right at you, be warned it has some naughty lyrics but in the “giggle-word-what-what” way.
